A walk around Park City is like a walk through a history book, and this history includes Kimball Junction. There's not just one historic white barn in Park City. The iconic white barn seen just passed Kimball Junction was built in 1933 and had its own story. The farm was purchased in 1884 by the Kimball family, who operated a stagecoach service between Park City and Salt Lake City. The Fletcher family purchased the farm in 1906 and worked it for more than 35 years. The Fletcher's sold the entire farm to the Wallin family, who owned the land until the Swaner Nature Preserve purchased the property in 2003, adding 107 acres to the Preserve and naming it the Swaner Farm. Kimball Junction, once just pastureland, part of the Overland Stagecoach line, then a freeway exit, is now a thriving town center with many amenities.
