Kimbal Junction History ♦ Swaner Farm

A walk around Park City is like stepping into a history book, and that includes Kimball Junction. There's not just one historic white barn in Park City—the iconic white barn just past Kimball Junction was built in 1933 and has its own story. The Kimball family purchased the land in 1884, operating a stagecoach service between Park City and Salt Lake City. In 1906, the Fletcher family took over, farming the land for 35 years before selling it to the Wallin family. In 2003, the Swaner Nature Preserve acquired the property, adding 107 acres and renaming it Swaner Farm. Once just pastureland and a freeway exit, Kimball Junction is now a thriving town center with shopping, dining, and recreation.
