Timberlakes is a gated recreational/residential community established in 1971 in the mountains East of Heber City, UT, in Lake Creek Canyon. The subdivision has approximately 1,537 lots, averaging about one acre in size, spread over nearly 16,000 acres. Within the subdivision, there are about 1,000 dwellings. About 20% of the homes are year-round residents, and the remaining houses are vacation homeowners. Here you can enjoy pines and quaking aspen, moose, elk, deer, ponds, creeks, and lakes at elevations between 6,000-8,600 feet. The roads are maintained year-round with snowplowing in the winter handled by the HOA, making this one of the best recreational/residential subdivisions in Summit or Wasatch County.

Snow removal on the lower part of the mountain and main roads is the first priority, and sometimes the higher elevations roads don't get plowed for a day or more after a storm. There are approximately five miles of paved and 30 miles of gravel road. While most of the dirt and gravel roads are accessible by two-wheel drive vehicles in the summer, it is highly recommended that vehicles be 4WD and required in the winter. Power is provided by Heber Valley Light & Power. Culinary water is provided by Timberlakes Special Service District, which is a private water district for Timberlakes. Phone and internet provided by Allwest Communications. All homes have septic systems, and most utilize propane tanks. Cell phone service is available in most areas on the mountain with Verizon or T-Mobile.
